Innovate BC has appointed Elizabeth Dutton as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), tasking her with spearheading operational growth and fostering a high-performance team to support the province’s innovation ecosystem.
Gitxaala Environmental Services has been awarded nearly half of a million dollars in funding, earmarked to support a multi-phase project aimed at enhancing environmental monitoring processes in-port and terminal settings to improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The B.C. Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is investing $7.7 million into 13 projects made through its call for wildfire tech projects and its July open call for innovation. Crown corporation Innovate BC has also awarded $1.5 million to five B.C. projects focused on research and development in life sciences, food sciences, or cleantech.
Five B.C. startups have received $300,000 each for their R&D projects focused on equipping various industries to address critical challenges, such as enhancing healthcare accessibility and reducing greenhouse-gas emissions in mining, while also boosting the province’s competitiveness and creating more jobs.
